Available Positions: 

Ice Hockey Instructors - UBC Hockey School is currently looking for ice instructors to assist in on and off ice programs during our summer hockey school.  You will be responsible for on-ice & off-ice mentoring, demonstrating, supervising, and organizing young hockey players aged between 4yrs & 15yrs.  You will be asked to develop an on-ice hockey session with specific criteria and age guidelines to present in your interview.  Currently this position is part-time but could conceivably develop into a full time position.  Only successful candidates will be contacted for interviews and given more details then.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• This individual will report to the Head instructor and Manager of the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre.
• Previous hockey coaching/instructor experience with youth ages from 4-15yrs of age.
• Strong organizational skills, and ability to work within a team environment.
• Extensive hockey specific knowledge and the abilility to communicate effectively to a broad age spectrum.
• Ensure that all players, parents, coaches are treated with professionalism and respect at all times.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• NCCP Hybrid or Development 1 Coaching certification, plus Speak Out course.
• Valid First-aid/CPR certification.
• Previous Junior B hockey experience or higher as a player would be a definite asset.

WORK HOURS:     UBC Hockey School (July 18 to August 26) approximately 25-30 hours per week.
