3 on 3 League Rink Rats (7-10yrs)

Are you tired of being on minor hockey waiting lists? Are you tired of not playing any games.  Then the 3 on 3 League at UBC is the program for you!

Each ice session consists of:

  • 20 mins of skating, skill development, high tempo drills.
  • Followed by a 30 min. 3 on 3 game (cross-ice with 2 games going on at once).  Each game will have 3 - 9 min. periods with a 1 min. intermission.  Clock will be run time with no stoppages in play.
  • 4 teams consisting of up to 9 players (including a goalie).
  • Players may have to take a turn to play in net if there is not a full-time goalie registered.
  • Every game will be reffed and supervised by a qualified UBC instructor(s). 

Benefits from 3 on 3 hockey:

  • Opportunity to touch the puck more often.
  • More icetime more often (up to a max. of 9 per team)
  • Simplify's the game and makes it easier to teach offensive and defensive awareness.
  • Great on-ice conditioning.

Prerequisites: Have successfully completed a Ice-Mice/Ice Mice Plus/Rink Rats(Youth Power Skating and Hockey Skills) or a similar class or shown qualities for advancement from your current instructor.

Special Notes

  • The first class will be an evaluation session so we can make the 4 teams as evenly matched as possible.
  • Pinnies/scrimmage vests will be used to identify teams and these must be returned after every session.
