A fun approach to learning to skate, designed for children with limited or no experience. We will focus on familiarizing your child to the ice and arena environment.  Standing alone and balance are the basic essentials for your child to progress in a positive way on the ice. 

*This is a very sensitive age for all and it is unreasonable to assume your child will just step on the ice and be comfortable.  Crying and not wanting to come on the ice without their parent is very common at this age.  Our instructors will try and assist your child to the best of their ability; however, priority will go to group instruction. It is up to the parent to watch their child until he or she is ready to join the group!  Please see 'Policies & Procedures' before registering your child.

Gloves/mittens and a hockey helmet are mandatory. Limited supply of skate and helmet rentals are available.

You will be prompted to select a 'Level' which is closest to your child's ability.  (when registering) This will give us a starting indication on how to split up the group.

• Level 0:  First time on ice with no previous experience.
  
• Level 1:  Limited experience, trouble standing on skates, walking/shuffling on skates.
• Level 2:  Stand, Skate & Glide on two feet, unassisted.
• Level 3:  Skate & Glide on one foot at a time, two foot stop, turn from forwards to backwards.
